Area III Eventing Coaches
Program Directory
Eventing coaches play a vital role in developing confident, capable riders and horses, while promoting safety, horsemanship, and lifelong learning within the sport. Established in 2002, the USEA Eventing Coaches Program (ECP)—formerly the Coaches’ Certification Program (ICP)—supports coaches at every stage of their teaching journey by providing education that strengthens both practical skills and theoretical knowledge, creating a foundation that continues to grow throughout a coaching career.
Coaches interested in participating in the Eventing Coaches Program can choose the ECP level that best reflects their experience through a self-evaluation of their riding, competing, and teaching background. From there, candidates attend the appropriate workshops, receive feedback from ECP faculty, and move forward to assessment at their selected level.
